Overview
Olivia earned a BA in Archaeology and the Ancient World and the History of Art and Architecture from Brown University. Her research interests focus on art production in ancient Rome through archaeological, archaeometric, art historical, and literary analyses. At Cornell, Olivia’s research investigates pigment formulae and the renovation of domestic decoration at Pompeii. This work builds on her senior thesis, Pigments and Prestige: Tracing Economic and Material Networks in the Production of Roman Wall Paintings at the Vacone Villa, which examined the economic implications of pigments used at the Vacone villa.
Olivia’s field experiences include the Casa della Regina Carolina Project at Pompeii, the Upper Sabina Tibernia Project in Vacone, Italy, and the S’Urachi Project in Sardinia, Italy. She also held a Mellon internship in 2024 with the Rhode Island School of Design Museum of Art and served as the Collections Manager for the Joukowsky Institute’s McGregor Numismatic Collection.
