Overview
Kate earned in BA in Classical Civilization and Anthropology from Wellesley College and her MA in Archaeology from Cornell University. She joins Cornell’s PhD program in Classics to study Bronze Age Aegean visual and material culture, building on her MA thesis research on the Mycenean “warrior” in iconography and mortuary practice. Her research will engage such themes as iconography, identity, violence, and cultural memory. Kate has conducted fieldwork at the Cycladic island of Despotiko and the Late Bronze Age site of Maroni Vournes on Cyprus.
