CIAMS Congratulates 2026 Graduates

Congratulations to the CIAMS 2026 graduates! Cornell's 2026 Commencement Ceremonies took place on the weekend of May 22-24th, during which this year's graduates were able to celebrate their hard-earned accomplishments.

CIAMS Affiliated Ph.D. Students:

Olivia Graves, Ph.D. in Classics. Her Dissertation is titled "Meaningful Exchange: Interpreting the Archaeological Coin Record of Republican Italy"

Liam McDonald, Ph.D. in Anthropology. 

Alex Symons, Ph.D. in Anthropology. His Dissertation is titled "Walking Walls: Herds, Enclosures, and Land Claims in the Late Bronze Age South Caucasus."

Anna Whittemore, Ph.D. in Anthropology. Her Dissertation is titled "Embodying the Pachacuti: The Bioarchaeology of Sociopolitical Transition in Huanca Sancos, Peri (800-1300 CE)."

CIAMS Master's Students:

David Dishman, MA Degree with CIAMS. His thesis is titled "Roman Recycling: An Analysis of Glass from Antioch on the Orontes and Comparison with Glass from Gerasa."

Lauren Hlister, MA Degree with CIAMS. Her thesis is titled "Architecture and Identity: Resolving the Construction History of the LeRay Mansion."

Josie Miller, MA Degree with CIAMS. Her thesis is titled "Why has Repatriation Taken So Long? Developing a Collective Approach to Repatriation Through the Case Study of the 79-A Collection"

Sarah Orsinger, MA Degree with CIAMS. Her thesis is titled "Uncovered and Undressed: The Archaeology of an Undergarment from the St James AME Zion Church."

Holley Sexton, MA Degree with CIAMS. Her thesis is titled "Childhood, Privilege, and Disease Exposure: An Analysis of Porotic Hypertosis and Cribra Orbitalia in Peru's Colca Valley During the Late Intermediate Period (AD 1100 - 1450)." 

Haley Stuckey (August Conferral), MA Degree with CIAMS. Her thesis is titled "The Displaced Italian: How Palimpsest Can Help Us Tend to the Pasts and Futures of Historical Instruments."

Emma Zilke, MA Degree with CIAMS. Her thesis is titled "Eating Well, Living Right: Interspecies Relationships and Social Responsibilities in the Making and Survival of a 17th-18th Century Maine Farm."

Archaeology Majors

Our graduating seniors with a major in Archaeology are: Jacob Berman (August Conferral), Ian Bayliss, Layla Henry, David Suh, and Jacky Zhou

Archaeology Minors

Our graduating seniors with a minor in Archaeology are: Sharon Sun and Immamun Reza.
