CIAMS Congratulates 2025 Graduates

Congratulations to the CIAMS 2025 graduates! Cornell's 2025 Commencement Ceremonies took place on the weekend of May 23-25th, during which this year's graduates were able to celebrate their hard-earned accomplishments.

CIAMS Affiliated Ph.D. Students

Dusti Bridges, Ph.D. in Anthropology. Her dissertation is entitled: "United With Them in Good Feeling and Friendship:" (Re)lating Archaeological Belongings, Colonialist Histories, and Incorporated Peoples among the Onöndowa'ga:' Hodinöhsö:ni'."

Claire Challancin (August Conferral), Ph.D. in Classical Archaeology. Her dissertation is entitled: "Living Monuments: A Studey of Epitymbia in Fourth to First Century BCE Sicily."

Alice Clinch (August conferral), Ph.D. in History of Art and Archaeology. Her dissertation is entitled: “Of Earth and Stone: Pigments and their Properties in Classical - Hellenistic Domestic Architecture.”

Amanda Domingues (August Conferral), Ph.D. in Science and Technology Studies. Her dissertation is entitled: “Where Knowledges Meet: Mobilizing Ethics in Collaborative Archaeological Science.”

Kathleen Garland, Ph.D. in Classical Archaeology. Her dissertation is entitled: "Archaeological labor and the making of a discipline: American archaeologists and their local labor forces in Greece and Cyprus (1881-2025 CE)"

Jaimie Luria, Ph.D. in Anthropology. Her dissertation is entitled: "Troubled Waters: Jewish Heritage Flows and the Spectral Mikveh."

Alice Wolff, Ph.D. in Medieval Studies. Her dissertation is entitled: “The Beauty of the Field: Weeds in the Medieval Imagination and Landscape.”

CIAMS MA Students

Carol Anne Barsody, MA Degree with CIAMS. Her thesis is entitled: “An Experiment-Based Study of Receptivity to Digitized Artifacts in Museum Exhibitions”

Canan Cem, MA Degree with CIAMS. Her thesis is entitled: “Divisions in Cypriot Archaeology: Archaeological Positions & Perceptions from a de-Facto State.”

Alexander Dorosin, MA Degree with CIAMS. His thesis is entitled: “Utilizing Aerial Photographs to Evaluate Indigenous Archaeological Sites in Northwest Washington, DC.” 

Maggie Joyce, MA Degree with CIAMS. Her thesis is entitled: “The Gemstones of Roman Bath: Exploring the Global and Glocal Affordances of the Materials and Images of the Gemstones from Aquae Sulis.”

Meixu Ye, MA Degree with CIAMS. Her thesis is entitled: “Skeletal Testimonies: Unearthing the Role of Jin Merchants in the Cultural Foundations and Social Aspirations of Foot -Binding in Qing Dynasty Shanxi.”

Archaeology Majors

Our graduating seniors with a major in Archaeology are: Alex Bentley, Alexander Bohler, Reade Lawson, and Jimmy Whitehead.

Archaeology Minors

Our graduating seniors with a minor in Archaeology are: Charlotte Behrend and David Kaprielian.
